With the introduction of ROG Phone, Asus already earned the crown of world’s first 2018 Computex, which sported 90Hz with an AMOLED screen. However, on the following day, it once again received the same title in the laptop segment. As this time, Asus did not miss the opportunity to introduce world’s first full-fledged touchscreen display laptop, Asus ZenBook Pro 14 (UX480) and ZenBook Pro 15 (UX580) as well.
It seems that the company somehow managed to fit in an updated touchscreen display smartphone instead of the touchpad. Some users may also consider this as a counterpart for Apple MacBook Pro with Windows 10 by considering the supplementary screen concept. But Asus took the stage by applying a distinct concept on the similar formula and has modified it its own. At a first glance, the new ZenBook Pro 14 and Pro 15 might look alike ordinary upgraded models. Both the ZenBook Pro’s are powered with latest Intel hardware, high-speed Thunderbolt 3 ports, narrow screen borders and slim design. However, other unique features that no has rendered before are sure to astonish most of the users.
Asus ZenBook Pro 15 (UX580) is featured with bezel-less 15.6-inch 4K UHD touchscreen display along with Delta E < 2 color accuracy. ZenBook Pro 15 is further powered by 8th generation i9 Intel hexa-core processor, 16 GB of RAM, and 1TB PCle x 4 SSD. Therefore, the Graphic intensive functions are executed by a GeForce GTX 1050Ti GPU and weights 1.8 kg. ZenBook Pro 15 also implemented with biometric authenticate fingerprint sensor. On the other hand, Zenbook Pro 14 (UX 480) is designed with a full-HD 14-inch display screen and 8th generation i7 Intel quad-core processor, 16GB of RAM expandable up to 1TB SSD and weights 1.6 kg. Graphics intensive duties are performed by GeForce GTX 1050 GPU along with Windows Hello-enabled IR camera authentication.
With the introduction of Asus ZenBook Pro series, modifications are also made in the keyboard, which will assist the users to cycle between all rendered options. The company further plans to promote browser extensions and various app integrations. One of the biggest challenges dealing with the full-fledged touchscreen display is, users cannot directly control Windows Program because it still functions as a trackpad for both the displays. However, considering the ScreenPad apps, users can control both the screen of ZenBook Pro 14 and Pro 15 directly like on a Smartphone.
Asus ZenBook Pro UX480 and Pro UX580 are not only two distinct size option but also completely distinct designs. However, both the laptops are available with a similar color option of Deep Dive Blue along with Rose Gold trim. Hence, users will have to stay neutral reviewing the availability of color options. Common features of both the ZenBook Pro series are Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth connectivity 5.0, 16 GB of RAM, and 1TBopf PCle SSD storage option. Therefore, it is expected that both the Asus ZenBook Pro series will be made available in the later-half of this year.
Stay tuned to get detailed updates of Asus ZenBook Pro 15 (UX580) and Pro 14 (UX480).
